Alternative Education Program educates the children that reside on our campus.
COMMUNITY PROGRAMS
CHOR offers several community – based programs which are dedicated
to determining the needs of children and families in those communities who
are experiencing significant problems in life and meeting those needs in a
qualitative manner. Prevention and education as well as traditional
treatment methods are emphasized.
Specialized Foster Care
program provides safe, loving homes for children who have been victims of
abuse or neglect in their homes. Very often, this is a result of
parents/ caregivers who struggle with drug and alcohol addiction and mental
health issues that prevent them from appropriately caring for their
children.
Adoption Services
- Our goal is to reunite foster children with their families. However, if
this is not possible we are able to seamlessly transition the child into an
adoption setting within our own agency.
Lehigh Valley Community Program
offers community –based treatment options with various levels of intensity.
The program assists youth and their families in working towards building
healthy relationships.
Berks Parents Services Collaborative
program provides prenatal and postpartum case management services to women
living in Berks County with a history or current use of drugs and / or
alcohol.
Acute Partial Hospitalization Program
is for children ages 5-12 years old, suffering from moderate to severe,
acute psychiatric disorders which inhibit their daily functioning abilities.
Summer Therapeutic Activities Program
provides specialized therapy, pet therapy, and outdoor activities that
are designed to help children in their daily functioning. The program is
tailored to assist children in their development of interpersonal skills,
coping abilities, problem solving, and decision making.
