Multidimensional Treatment Foster Care

Multidimensional Treatment Foster Parenting is about changing lives, one teen at a time. It presents foster families with both challenges and opportunities. The challenge is parenting teens who have lived their lives under difficult circumstances. The opportunity is that the caring environment of your home can transform lives.

Program Description:
Multidimensional Treatment Foster Care (MTFC) provides treatment for youth who often show emotional and behavioral problems that present a challenge. Through a collaborative effort by the Treatment Team, the program focuses on decreasing anti-social behaviors and increasing pro-social skills and behaviors, to help youth experience success at home, at school, and in the community.

Ages served: MTFC is for youth ages 12 to 18 years of age.

Program length: One foster youth is placed in your home at a time for 6-9 months.

MTFC Foster Parents

Foster parents are recruited, trained and supported to be part of the Treatment Team. They provide close supervision and implement a structured, individualized program for each youth. The youth’s program is designed by the Program Supervisor (with input from the rest of the Treatment Team). The Program Supervisor works closely with the foster parents to build on the youth’s strengths and to set clear rules, expectations, and limits.
